Mary explains that, in commissioning a wedding gown, from a highly skilled and qualified designer, you are assured of correct fit and shape. Your gown can be personalized, and will have been designed especially for you.
To have a wedding gown designed is an exercise in trust. The designer is required to explore ideas with the client, and to advise accordingly. It is the designers challenge, to embody the many aspects discussed, and researched during consultation, and put together fabric samples and sketches, the client can relate to.

“I have certain fabrics I work with; superior fabrics are always a pleasure to use. Rather than trying to use seasonal fabrics and following a trend, I like to embellish and decorate, and to use cut and shape as my definition.
Decorative effects I use, include swarovski crystal beads, Czech glass beading, ribbon embroidery, appliqués, delicate chain maille weaves, and rouleau weaving. When combined with sumptious silk, and fluid georgettes, used singularly or together, this creates a stunning effect”.

Today, the vast experience Mary has gained allows her to shape and mould fabrics to her clients

“I work not from what has already been done, but try to find new silhouettes and shapes and to add drama even to the most unassuming design.” Mary explains further, “There is such scope for experimentation here with fabrics and decoration."

"Style and exclusivity are everything, and style is knowing what suits you.”
